Yay!! After 2 boys I finally have a little girl! She was born September 24th, 2009 at 2:39 p.m.. She weighed 8 lbs and 3 oz. and she was 20 inches tall. But as exciting as it sounds that I have a baby girl, it was bringing her into this world that was...not so exciting. She was 2 days overdue and she made no kind of movement showing that she wanted to come out at all, so I had to be induced. My first and my last, hopefully. Anyways! I went in at 8:00 a.m. on Thursday to St. Marks, but wasn't actually induced til it was close to 9:00 a.m....oh and I was only dilated to a 3. So my labor was really slow. As each hour passed the more intense my contractions would be. At first, I was able to sleep through it, (all thanks to the IV drug that was given) then as soon as it wore off...I was wishing for the epidural, but it was already too late. So as I laid there still trying to keep a smile on, the contractions were coming every minute, but there was still no movement from her. She really didn't want to come or she was just really, really lazy and I think she was just lazy. Then it was time, after sitting straight up and moving to my side, she was finally coming! I pushed, I think, twice and her head was coming then got stuck...omg, it was sooo painful, then pushed again and her head was out and I thought it was over, because the body just slides right out, but apparently that's not what happened. Instead, her stomach gets stuck and yes, just like the head it was freakin painful. So I pushed again and then it was finally over. They pulled her out and laid her on my stomach and all of a sudden I was fighting for air, because of how heavy she was. I was surprised with her weight and how heavy she was, but I am happy and grateful that I finally have a beautiful, healthy baby girl!!
